Details of Railway Accidents in the Ottawa Area

1977, January 13 - Crossing collision, Carlsbad Springs, CNR., Alexandria sub., no injuries

Ottawa Citizen Thursday 13 January 1977 'Damn lucky' A Cumberland Township couple, Brian Lalond, 25, and his wife Jocelyne, 23, escaped with slight injuries this morning when their car collided with a passenger train at a level crossing near Carlsbad Springs. The pair were northbound on a county road when their car slid into the train's engine. Portions of the car were carried more than 400 feet down the tracks. OPP Constable Brian Lalond said "they were damn lucky." A man was killed Sunday in a similar mishap at a nearby crossing.
