From the Ottawa Journal 10 November 1976 Train-car crash kills 2 HAWKESBURY (Special) A coroner's inquest is to be held into the deaths of two persons killed when their car was hit by a train Tuesday at St. Eugene. Richard Proulx, 19; driver of the car, and his sister Murielle Mayer, 25, died when their car was struck by a CP Rail passenger train on County Road 14. The car was dragged more than half a mile before the train was able to stop. From the Ottawa Citizen 10 November 1976 HAWKESBURY Two St-Eugene residents died in the wreckage of this car when it collided with a Canadian Pacific Rail train at a crossing on a County Road, one-half mile north of St-Eugene. Richard Proulx, 19, driver of the car, and his sister Mrs. Murielle Mayer, 25, were killed when the south bound automobile collided with the westbound train about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. St-Eugene is about 14 miles north of Hawkesbury.
