Ottawa Citizen 8 August 1972 Car-train crash injures motorist SMITHS FALLS (Staff) A 28-year-old Smiths Falls man is in good condition in St. Francis Hospital after colliding with a train at an uncontrolled rail crossing on William Street Monday night. Police say Victor Russell of 13 Elm St., failed to see flagmen with flares because of heavy rain and ran into the Belleville bound CNR passenger train. The train was delayed about 30 minutes.
