Ottawa Citizen 17 July 1959 Train Kills Soldier At Petawawa PEMBROKE (CP) -Tpr. Morton W. Downey, 27, of Fort William, Ont., was killed Thursday when struck by a westbound Canadian Pacific Railway passenger train near the Petawawa Military Camp 20 miles west of here. Police said the soldier, who was stationed at Petawawa with the Fort Garry Horse, appeared to have been walking or sitting on the track when hit by the train. - - -
