Ottawa Citizen 13 December 1940 Careless Driver Hit Returning From Court BROCKVILLE. Dec. 12. (Special) Wallace Mercer, resident of the neighboring township of Elizabethtown. paid fine and costs of $7 in magistrate's court here this morning on a charge of careless driving. On his way home at noon he was struck by a passenger C.P.R. train, which was moving across Perth street after having discharged passengers at the Union station. Mercer escaped with slight injuries to one knee, but his car was extensively damaged
