1925, April 9 - Ontario Better Livestock train visits Winchester



The  Ontario Better Livestock train circulated throughout the area for several years at this time.  The Winchester Press has a good account.

Saturday morning 
(4 April) the Ontario Better Live Stock train was in the siding here from 9 to 12 o'clock and during that time it was visited by a great number of farmers as well as by many interested towns people. Some coming in from many miles out to see the exhibit. There were 17 cars in the train, one being used as a sleeper for the staff accomanying the special, another as a diner, while the third was used as a lecture car and the balance filled with exhibits of dairy cattle, beef cattle, horses, swine, sheep, poultry, dairy products, wool etc., together with a lighting plant suitable for farm use and in actual operation lighting the train. Officials accompanied the visitors through the train prepared to answer all questions and a portion of the forenoon was given to lectures on horses and poultry. The train went from here to Finch.
