Eastern Ontario Review (Vankleek Hill) 30 January 1914 Owing to a switch having been left open at the Calumet station one day last week, the express from Montreal took the wrong track to get into the station and came instead in contact with a freight train standing on the siding causing much damage to the engine and breaking several cars loaded with logs that were forming that train. Fortunately the express train was coming in slowly and that the engineer, who was snow blinded, noticed that his engine was on the wrong track, had time to put on the brake, which eased the collision to a great extent. The passengers received a severe shock but were not injured whatever. |
