After several hours work the track was cleared, but the passenger train had to return to Osgoode. While there Mr. Johnson, editor of the Kingston News, attempted to jump on the cars after the train started, and fell between the cars and the platform. Fortunately he escaped with a few bruises. He returned to Ottawa after the accident.

Off The Track
The train leaving Ottawa on Saturday night ran off the track between that city and Prescott, causing a delay of five hours. Connection at Prescott with the train for the west was missed, and consequently we were without our Ottawa exchanges, including the Gazette, this morning.
