Details of Railway Accidents in the Ottawa Area



 1873, June 21 - Boy fell between the wheels of a train at Stittsville, Canada Central Railway, one fatality

RAILROAD ACCIDENT ̶  The Ottawa Free Press says that on Saturday evening last a boy named Edward McDonald attempted to jump upon the cars of the Canada Central near Stittsville, but missing his hold, he fell beneath the wheels, which went over his left leg, mangling it so severely that amputation was necessary. After it was performed he gradually sank and expired on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was formerly a resident of Ottawa.
