The Times, Ottawa 20 April 1866 On Wednesday night Mr. R. Beemish, master of the Prescott section of the O. & P. Railway, was running a hand car on the track, at Prescott, when one of the cranks came off, causing him to fall heavily on his breast, The injury resulting from the fall proved fatal, and the poor fellow never spoke after the accident. Beemish was a man highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his death. Verdict - accidental deat |
