It's Still Stittsville -With Or Without "S", Published 25 April 1957 Although everybody calls the place Stittsville, with an "s" in the middle, the Canadian Pacific persists in describing the station as Stittville. Reason I believed to be that when the Canadian Pacific "reformed" its station names a while ago, there was a Canadian Pacific official called Stitt, and the station was presumed to have been named after hia family. So the town is still called Stitts-ville, while in solitary splendor, the station remain Stitt-ville. |
