Dome Cars For The CNR Now For Some Diners, Published 14 November 1955 The
Canadian National is buying dome cars for its Super Continental
Limited. In an otherwise excellent train, which incidentally makes the
fastest time between Ottawa and Winnipeg, an all but perfect
streamliner is rendered less perfect by the lack of these upstairs
observation cars. Now the CNR is catering to this feature. One can also hope that when Donald Gordon gets his dome cars going, he may embrace dining car service in them. Such .great transcontinental lines as Baked Potato Route (Nor-Pacific and the Challenge (Union Pacific) feature dining domes. Finally, I would like to see the National "get with it" and run their observation cars at the end of the train as very properly does the Canadian Pacific. |
