
I finished off my work writing railway safety regulations for Bolivia in 2004. This time I stayed in La Paz. The office was in La Paz but I was living in Calacoto, a suburb, some 500 feet below La Paz. I did not see any railway action but saw a little of Calacoto and La Paz as well as spending a weekend on Lake Titicaca. Calacoto
Calacoto is a very pleasant location in
which to live. There are plenty of food shops, groceries, restaurants,
bars etc so that the commute into La Paz was not a drag. I only went to
La Paz for meetings, most of my work was done at home. But the most
extraordinary part of Calacoto was the surrounding countryside of which
