1902, June 17 -  Canada Atlantic passenger train runs through an open switch at Alexandria, no injuries

Eastern Ontario Review Friday 20 June 1902

Owing to an accident at Alexandria Tuesday the Montreal Exoress on the C.A.R. was over an hour late. A switch had been left open by mistake and when the train pulled into the station, going at the usual rate of speed,, it ran from the main line to a siding, crashing into a number of freight cars there. The pilot of the engine was broken, the van at the rear of the freight cars smashed and some other damage done, but no one was injured. Another engine had to be secured to bring the train into Ottawa.
