1870, August 27 - Brockville and Ottawa Railway freight train derails between Arnprior and Almonte

Almonte Gazette - 27 August 1870 Off the Track - the night train ran off the track between Almonte and Arnprior. Some eight or nine cars, mostly lumber trucks, were displaced and considerably damaged. Fortunately no one was injured.
